Last week I had a chance to sit down with David Millsaps, the creator of http://NewRaleigh.com. http://NewRaleigh.com is a community citizen journalism blog/site that focused on, you guessed, Raleigh, NC and restaurants in the area. David and I talked about what led him to start NewRaleigh.com, citizen journalism and how online reporting is affecting the current layoffs in the newspaper industry. Other topics included David’s advice on starting a community website, what’s next for NewRaleigh.com and why David twitter name is eyevariety. David is very intellectual and talented and is one of the reasons Triangle, NC community is one of the leaders in social media and citizen journalism.
